Estimated contract value is £30m to £40m, although funding has yet to be secured for the project
The university’s estates department is looking to build halls to accommodate 664 students on a previously developed site close to the centre of campus in Coventry. The development will comprise 11 blocks, ranging from three to six storeys high, together with a village hall, wardens house and associated external works. Demolition of some existing accommodation is involved.
According to the contract notice in the EU Official Journal, a further 250 additional residences, on a separate site towards the edge of campus, may also be incorporated as part of the scheme.
The university anticipates that the works will be completed in phases in 2016 and 2017.
