The machines, to be delivered in stages over the next few months, are a mixture of long-reach industrial rehandlers and wheeled loading shovels.
They will be used at Bywaters’ waste yards at Lea Riverside, Bow – London’s largest undercover dry materials recovery facility – and Gateway Road, Leyton, replacing older Liebherr models.
The order is comprised of L550 and L556 wheeled loaders, R924 Litronic tracked and A904 Litronic wheeled long-reach industrial rehandlers.
The wheeled loaders are articulated, hydrostatically driven and in the 16-17 tonnes class, with tipping load of 11,650kg and just over 13,000kg respectively.
The R924 C Litronic tracked industrial rehandler, also Stage IIIA /Tier 3 compliant , has a 6.8m monobloc straight industrial boom, a 5m industrial stick and an hydraulic swivel for the various attachments in use, including a Liebherr SG30 sorting grab. Automatic lubrication is included. The elevating operator’s cab can be raised to 5.27m for a better view of the material being handled.
The wheeled A904 C Litronic has four hydraulic outriggers and maximum lifting capacity of 4.5t at 10.5m radius. The industrial straight monobloc boom is 6.6m long and the machine is equipped with a Type SG 25 sorting grapple for direct attachment on to the 4.5m industrial angled stick with tipping kinematic and 360° hydraulic swivel.
All machines are powered by Stage IIIA /Tier 3 Liebherr ±ð²Ô²µ¾±²Ô±ð²õ.Ìý
