The two 132,000V power lines, in Connah's Quay and Bangor, require approximately 40km of overhead line route to be upgraded. Working with ScottishPower Energy Networks, Interserve’s overhead line specialists will upgrade steelwork and foundations on the existing towers, change conductors, insulators and fittings to extend the life expectancy of the lines.
These contracts, starting in March 2013, form part of a significant investment by ScottishPower Energy Networks to modernise the infrastructure supplying homes and businesses in the area
Interserve divisional director Ian Maddison said: “In addition to delivering the projects safely and efficiently, a major consideration in the construction will be managing the environmental impact of the works. We will have stringent construction management plans and temporary works in place to mitigate any risks. It will be an exciting project and we’re looking forward to getting started next year.”
