The crane was selected to work on windfarm turbine installation and heavylift contracts for the oil and gas industry.
Ìý°Â³ó²â³Ù±ð Crane Hire, established a dozen yeasr ago, runs a fleet of some 40 cranes, including numerous Liebherr LTM all terrain and LTF truck-mounted telescopic cranes.
The LG 1750 has the boom system and lifting abilities of a 750t crawler crane, mounted on a wheeled all terrain 8-axle 16X8X16 chassis. Stability when lifting comes from four hydraulically folding outriggers that provide a base area of 16m x 16m.
Whyte Crane Hire has specified a selection of boom, mast, fly-jib and counterweight options. For precision and high lift capabilities for windfarm work, the crane has Liebherr’s 8L8HS configuration with 115.5m main boom and a 6m fly jib. An additional SL9D2FB arrangement provides 136m of main boom, an 18m fly, with 42m derrick back mast and a ballast tray for up to 400t of counterweight. These features will allow the LG 1750 to carry out windfarm turbine lifts up to 138m hub height, with a lifting capacity of 120t at 26m radius. The heavy lift equipment for oil and gas related contracts comes in SDB, SD2B and SLDB configuration with a second hoist winch for using with a 600t capacity hookblock, allowing 400t to be lifted on to barges and pipe-laying vessels, for example.
Whyte Crane Hire provides crane rental and cargo handling services throughout Scotland and northern England from depots in Aberdeen, Ellon, Grangemouth and Montrose.
