Willmott Dixon starts on High Wycombe sports complex

15 May 14 Willmott Dixon has begun construction of a new £25m sports and leisure development in High Wycombe for Wycombe District Council.

Designed by AFLS+P architects, the 10,750 m² rectangular Wycombe Sports Centre will be clad in copper and aluminium panels that have four different finishes.

Facilities inside the centre will include a 12-court sports hall, an eight-lane 50m swimming pool, a sub-aqua dive pit, a 150 station gym, a four-rink indoor bowls hall, two squash courts, a climbing wall and a café.

As part of the council’s Handy Cross Hub redevelopment project, there will also be a multi-storey car park, a food store, and a coach park and ride terminus.

The current Wycombe Sports Centre will remain open while the new leisure centre is built alongside it, on the current site of the running track. Õ¥Ö¼§ is scheduled to be complete by October 2015.
