WSP scoops up DHV trio for maritime push

6 Jul 16 Consulting engineer WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff is targeting the maritime sector with the recruitment of three experts from a Dutch consultancy.

Simon Harries, Roy Van Eijsden and Andy Penfold all arrive from Royal HaskoningDHV and have been made directors of WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Simon Harries will lead the expanded maritime business. He has more than 35 years’ experience in the planning, design, project management and supervision of large maritime projects. He has led acquisitions in the UK and Turkey and opened up new businesses in Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, Brazil, Oman, and Abu Dhabi, among others.

Roy Van Eijsden is a corporate risk specialist, focusing on international economic and legislative developments and market trends for clients. He has worked on infrastructure projects across six continents with multinational oil & gas and chemical companies, port & shipping lines, financial, legal and private equity firms.

Andy Penfold is a shipping economist with experience in market and financing studies for the port and shipping industries. He founded Ocean Shipping Consultants in 1986, and sold it to DHV in 2011. At WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff he will be responsible for commercial market studies in the shipping and port markets at a global level.
