Yanmar developed its first 8-tonne zero tail swing excavator in 1997. The current Stage IIIB compliant model is powered by a Yanmar direct-injection diesel engine with an output of 42.2KW (57.3hp). It has an electronic control unit and a common rail system that give a 15% increase in performance and a 17% decrease in fuel consumption, according to the manufacturer.
Jovic Plant managing director Peter Goudie said: “Engine emissions are becoming an increasingly important consideration for us when buying new equipment. We run a large fleet of Yanmar excavators and this is the first of the new generation of 8-tonne machines.”
Jovic Plant also run the SV08-1AS, ViO17, ViO25, and ViO50 models as well as Ammann compaction plates and the AV12(82cm) and AV26 (120cm) rollers.
